Blu previously Munchkin has just discovered the magic of rain 🌧️

To all of our new puppy families, take advantage of this rainy day to desensitize your new family member to rain and wet grass.

Desensitizing puppies to rain is important for their comfort, adaptability, and long-term behavior. Puppies that are not introduced to rain early may develop fears or aversions to wet conditions, making rainy-day walks, outdoor potty trips, or even simple outings stressful for both the dog and the owner.

By gently exposing them to rain in a positive way—such as with treats, praise, or playful experiences—they learn that rain is a normal part of life and nothing to fear. This desensitization helps them become more confident, adaptable, and well-rounded adult dogs.

Puppy selection is this weekend! We can’t wait to meet our new puppy families and see which puppy they choose.

These babies are actively transitioning from solely nursing to eating solid food, are becoming more social with their littermates, and are entering a critical period for socialization with humans and other animals, where they are rapidly learning about the world around them through experiences and interactions with different sights, sounds, and people.

We had two spots open up on this litter due to timing issues with our waitlist families.

Our Wicked litter is officially 4 weeks old 🐾

These sweet babies are learning so quickly! Their sight and hearing have improved significantly, and they’re starting to discover the world around them.

As they continue to grow, they’re building muscle strength and control, which means those wobbly steps are turning into more coordinated little walks !

Puppies have now moved out of the nursery and into a more active area of our home. This new environment is full of sights, sounds and new faces helping build their confidence. The more experiences they get now, the better prepared they’ll be for their forever homes.

Our daily handling training will continue each day until puppies go to their forever homes. We are also exposing puppies to a new noise each day as well as exposure to a new novelty item.

I am extremely proud at how well they are doing with their potty training. At this stage, they are learning to make their way to their designated potty area, which is a huge step for their development.

We are over the moon waiting for Cali’s babies to arrive

We are having a repeat litter of mini goldendoodles. with Cali and Boots! Their last litter was so gorgeous.

Anticipated due date is November 27th.

This Thanksgiving, we’ll be extra grateful for all the new little paws and wagging tails coming into our lives. Our holiday will be filled with plenty of extra love, joy… and, of course, a little sleep deprived.

Our Bridgerton litter turned 6 weeks old this past week.

Puppy selection day was this past weekend. It is always so wonderful to meet our puppy families and our puppies always seem to end up exactly where they were meant to be.

Daphne’s family had their eye on her since the day she was born, they had an immediate connection.

Charlotte now Sonora, is a birthday gift for the dad. They have been waiting patiently since last summer to add this sweet girl to their family.

Duke now Kylo, will be joining a wonderful family and have an older brother and sister to play with.

Benedict will be keeping his name and be called Benny. He will have a big brother and sister to play with.

Eloise now Cali, found the perfect family and will have a goldendoodle big sister to share toys with.

Our Bridgerton litter is 4 1/2 weeks old.

These little angels are making me so proud! I’m impressed with how quickly they have learned to use their designated potty area. They are unbothered by the vacuum and our fireworks sound desensitizing.

Our Bridgerton litter turned 3 weeks old on Saturday 🐾

Week 3 is a big week for these sweet babies. We introduced a potty area and they are doing so well learning to go in the designated area. This week they will continue with their daily puppy handling desensitization and try puppy mush for the first time. Make sure to follow our stories for all the cuteness!

This is a big week for these little ones when their eyes open and ends with them being able to walk, see, bark, and use the restroom on their own!

Coco is such and amazing mother and embraces the role so naturally. During these first two weeks puppies spend all of their time bonding with mom, nursing and sleeping. We only remove puppies to sanitize nursery, check weights and performing ENS and ESI training daily.

This is a big week for these pumpkins. They have graduated from the nursery to a larger space with a play area, began eating puppy mush and doing phenomenal with potty training. They are becoming more aware of their surroundings, they have started mouthing and playing with each other, and began wagging their tails. We are continuing our daily 10 step handling exercises for desensitization. And continue to expose them to a new novelty item each day, this will foster confidence in our puppies, encouraging them to believe in their own abilities.

I know this next month with them is going to fly by and and then it will be time for these sweet babies to bring so much love to their furever families 🤍

Our Hocus Pocus girls 🐾🐾

Gigi’s had 3 beautiful, healthy girls on October 5th.

Green collar - Winnie 💚
Pink Collar - Sarah 🩷
Purple collar - Mary 💜

Gigi has adapted to motherhood so quickly, she is a natural. We are so in love with these sweet little girls.

During the first week puppies spend their days eating and sleeping. The first week is a time for mom to bond with her babies. We keep their nursery quiet and dark with 24 hour supervision. Once babies turned three days old we began our ENS/ESI training. We take their weights nightly and will continue their ENS/ESI training for the next two weeks.

Stay tuned for a video demonstrating our ENS/ESI training process.

Benefits of introducing early puppy stimulation exercises:

🐾 Improves circulation and immune system
🐾 Stimulates the neurological system
🐾 Improves stress responses in later life

Early Scent Introduction (ESI) is a procedure we do that helps puppies with their nose awareness Early Scent Introduction (ESI) is done in conjunction with the ENS training. ESI is designed to enhance puppy’s ability to identify and react to specific scents.

Gigi and Cali are both expecting and puppies should arrive the second week of October. As the due date approaches, we will be eagerly awaiting the arrival of these precious puppies. We will keep you updated on their progress and share photos of their adorable faces once they are born.

Our fall litter turns 8 weeks today.

The last week with these babies is always an emotional one. I have spent every part of my day over the last two months caring, nurturing and teaching these sweet babies to be the perfect family companion.

5 weeks old 🐾🐾

These past five weeks have flew by. I can’t believe we only have 3 weeks together before these sweet little babies go to their forever homes.

Week five is when a puppy is exposed to new faces other than his mom and littermates. At this age, these puppy appears more playful and curious by the day. They are exploring the world around them and learning how to interact with others.

They are learning the important lesson of "bite inhibition" and the difference between fighting and play biting. This lesson teaches a puppy the appropriate limits of play in their future interactions with others.

Our puppies are being exposed daily to a new noise and activities to help desensitize the puppy to be well rounded confident pups.

Bath time 🛁

Here at West Coast Goldendoodles we begin desensitizing our puppies at 3 days old with Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) exercises.

We also begin weekly nail trims at 1 week old and sanitary trims at 3 weeks old.

We perform daily handling exercises throughout their 8 weeks with us to help build trust, desensitization, and counterconditioning.

Puppy handling is one of the most beneficial exercises a puppy can receive. A dog that grows up, comfortable and relaxed when having its body handled will be a reliable family dog and will have low-stress veterinary and grooming visits.

We encourage all of our puppy families to continue daily puppy handling and grooming at home.

Our fall litter 🍁

These little pumpkins are 3 weeks old and are able to see, hear, walk, and urinate/defecate on their own. Though their brains are still developing, they are capable of learning several new things.

Separate area for potty has been added to their nursery and they are learning quickly to use the designated potty area.

Little teeth have started to erupt so we will begin the weaning process this week. We have introduced puppies to a new toy each day, it is so exciting to watch their confidence grow.
